Alim D. Adatia, is currently a Director at Outreach Strategists (OS), a public affairs firm, where he works with a variety of clients across the public and private sectors to develop and execute on ideas in order to meet their stated goals.
Leading up to his return to his hometown of Houston, TX, Alim worked in Boston, MA where he was Special Counsel to Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and the head of the Governor’s Drug Lab Task Force. In this role, Alim was also appointed as a Special Assistant Attorney General representing the Massachusetts State Police and the Department of Public Health.
Prior to this role, Alim operated Adatia Law, a general practice law firm in Boston, MA whose most significant book of business came from criminal defense. In addition to representing private clients, Alim maintained a full-time roster of indigent clients appointed to him as a Bar Advocate for the Suffolk Lawyers for Justice.
Prior to his private practice, Alim served as an Assistant District Attorney at the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office (SCDAO) in Boston, MA. Alim spent a majority of his time at the SCDAO as the Safe Neighborhood Initiative Prosecutor within the Gang Unit. This role allowed Alim to immerse himself in the community and develop relationships with a variety of stakeholders to think locally about reducing crime.
Alim was recognized by the SCDAO as the 2009 District Court Prosecutor of the Year. In addition, the Boston City Council named June 18, 2010 “Alim Adatia Day” in recognition of his service to the City of Boston. Most recently, Alim was part of class XXXV of Leadership Houston.
Pilar combines her extensive experience in Spanish and bi-lingual media and journalism with her passion for social service and community affairs in her work with Outreach Strategists. Her work at Univision and Telemundo, where she was a writer and producer, have given her a sharp understanding of media affairs, while her long-time work with corporate and non-profit clients has given her keen insights into the challenges and opportunities in the Latino community.
Pilar has won recognition for her work from numerous community organizations and received the Visionary Award from the National Hispanic Professionals Organization before joining their Board of Directors. She also serves on the Board of the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement, and is a member of Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Latin Women’s Initiative, Houston Association of Hispanic Media Professionals and Latinos in Social Media.
Pilar holds degrees from the Bachillerato Tecnologico and the University of Monterrey, Mexico.
Zak is responsible for overseeing original content creation for clients ranging from businesses to institutions to individuals. He brings a sharp understanding of the power of language to shape and tailor messaging, as well as keen insight into successful communications. Before joining Outreach Strategists in December 2008, he managed the successful campaign of Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia. During this historic campaign to elect the first county-wide Latino officer-holder in Harris County’s history, Zak was responsible for the day-to-day activities, including execution, strategy, communications and administration.
During the administration of Houston Mayor Bill White, Zak served as senior correspondence writer where he handled the mayor’s citizens’ correspondence, from draft to follow-up. He also worked with the Office of Government Affairs, where he began his work as an assistant overseeing office management, legislative coordination and constituent services.
Zak holds a Bachelor’s degree in English and History from the University of Michigan and earned his Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Saint Thomas in 2008. He is an avid reader and also teaches at local colleges.
After five years in television news, Tim made the switch to public and media relations. Prior to joining Outreach Strategists, he was a newscast producer at KRIV-TV in Houston, and an on-air meteorologist and reporter at KFBB-TV in Great Falls, MT.
During his time in Montana, Tim was awarded “Best TV News Investigation” by the Society of Professional Journalists for a multi-part report exposing the dealings of a local contractor scamming residents. Tim understands how news stories are put together and how to work effectively with reporters and writers.
Tim has a Bachelor’s of Science in Geosciences, with an emphasis in Broadcast Meteorology and Communications, from Mississippi State University.
Tyler focuses on research and data for Outreach Strategists. Having previously served in the Office of International Trade and Development under Mayor Annise Parker, Tyler now brings his skills to bear on client work ranging from non-profit studies, to strategic planning and event coordination. Before locating to Houston, Tyler worked for the Georgia Governor’s office where he focused on State and Federal Affairs in Washington D.C. Tyler graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Georgia with a degree in Economics and Political Science.
Prior to joining Outreach Strategists, Sabiha managed and contributed to several campaigns including Wendy Davis for Governor and Obama for America. Sabiha is currently engaged in campaign strategy, client management, and research and analysis for a variety of the firm’s clients. Sabiha speaks several language including Spanish, Urdu, and Konkani and enjoys engaging with clients of all backgrounds and nationalities. In her free time, Sabiha contributes to various community organizations including The Kozmetsky Center of Excellence, Houston Food Bank, and is a mentor for Girls Leading Our World (GLOW).
